Arkman company was founded in 1979 by Bülent Arkman, who started working in computer software in 1972. During the 3 years of 1979-80-81, Bülent Arkman actually taught in a special programming course that was opened for the first time in Turkey and trained new software developers for the sector. Starting from this year, Arkman Computer, which produces software for travel agencies, has assumed a leading role in the sector with its software being used in more than 700 travel agencies as of 2007. Between 1979 and 1984, all special software for İPRAGAZ, MOBİL, VAKKO, MUTLU AKÜ, SHERATON OTEL İSTANBUL and CENNET OTEL SİDE were written by Arkman. The special software written by Bülent Arkman, who produced the first INCOMING software in Turkey in 1979, for Penta Dış Ticaret in 1984 was sold to Switzerland and put into use there
